11 Kathy Thurston Zach Yarnoff Kathy serves on the Board of Directors and the Real Estate Challenge committee. Why are you involved with the Foundation? Having been impacted by colon cancer through the loss of both my father and grandfather, the mission of the Foundation resonates with my desire to find a cure for gastrointestinal cancers. I am passionate about real estate education and attracting top talent to the industry, especially young women. What motivates you? Taking action, being an active participant in life, family, work etc. When did you land your first job and what was it? Thirteen years old working at Dairy Queen. I still make awesome milkshakes! If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why? Condoleezza Rice. She is a brilliant woman, leader, golfer and pianist! She has met fascinating people all around the world. One dinner may not be enough time to cover it all! Favorite travel accessory? My Pashmina. It's a wrap, a blanket, a pillow, a scarf… Kathy's Secret: I love vintage muscle cars and aspire to own one as soon as I find garage space! Zach is the President of the Associate Board and serves on the Eisenopoly and Summer Networking Event committees. Why are you involved with the Foundation? I got involved as a student by participating in the Foundation's mentorship program. After seeing the opportunities for students and meeting with the amazing people involved with the organization, I knew I wanted to get involved. I feel constantly rewarded by the programs we offer students and the substantial fundraising dollars we donate. What motivates you? I am a constant learner and love the experience of taking on new projects and meeting new people. When did you land your first job and what was it? I was 14 when I landed my first job as a caddy at the Evanston Country Club. If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be and why? Larry David. I think he's hilarious and am a huge Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm fan. Favorite travel accessory? Memory foam travel pillow! Zach's Secret: I'm an avid chess player.
