18 About Our Real Estate Education Programs Today's students, tomorrow's leaders. Established in 1999, the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation honors the memory of Harold Eisenberg by fighting gastrointestinal cancer (the disease that took his life) and carrying on his legacy as a leader and educator with real estate education programs. Who We Are HEEF is committed to enriching and inspiring real estate students through unique educational opportunities. Our programs have been designed to provide exposure to and experience in the real world of real estate. We create opportunities and connections for real estate students. What We Do Each year, the Foundation recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of real estate with at least two academic scholarships. > The Mentorship and Career Counseling programs provide opportunities for students to experience the real working world through the eyes and mind of a real estate professional on intimate one-on-one day-long journeys, or in hour-long career counseling sessions. > Career Day is an immersive two-day educational outreach program designed for young people who are looking to build a career in real estate. > The Real Estate Challenge provides student teams with a hands-on opportunity to apply what they are learning in their university courses to the real working world of real estate by creating a development plan for a real Chicago site. > Our Speaker Series, Accredited Courses, Summer Internship Program and Job Opportunities webpage have all been designed to provide students with exposure to and experience in the real world of real estate. By the Numbers More than 3,250 students' lives impacted. Many students later join our family of industry leaders who want to give back. Over 1,250 days of mentorship to date.
