11 Marty Becker Founder, Becker Gurian How did you get involved in the Foundation? Harold's sudden passing was devastating. He was a dominant leader and an important mentor to each of us. A group of Harold's friends and business colleagues felt it was important to memorialize Harold's life. A scholarship fund was established to honor Harold's memory and help the Eisenberg family create something positive out of this horrible tragedy. What is your favorite memory of Hal? When he arrived at a meeting a half hour later than the other participants – smiling, without apology, but asking about our families. Any anger the participants felt was always dissipated because of Harold's lovable and caring personality. That was all that really mattered. Why are you passionate about the Foundation? Its vision and leadership. When the Foundation was established in 1999, what was your favorite song? Quama Quama Quama by Norman Welch In a word, what does the Foundation mean to you? Challenge What is your vision for the Foundation? Carrying on Harold's passion for mentoring by the continuation of the Foundation's mentoring programs. What is one thing people don't know about you? I am not nearly as good of a golfer as my reputation. If you could meet one iconic person dead or alive who would it be and why?
