13 Who We Are Getting to Know the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation Emeritus Board Q&A How did you get involved in the Foundation? After Hal passed, a number of business acquaintances, friends and family wanted to do something in his name, which led to the beginning of the Foundation and the work in funding cancer research and mentoring students in real estate. What is your favorite memory of Hal? He was a ball of energy and my mentor, he taught me the business. If you could meet one iconic person dead or alive who would it be and why? Mother Theresa because she cared about those most in need. Since the Foundation's inception, how have you grown as a person? I have thought more about helping others through charitable work and trying to make a difference through cancer research funding. Why are you passionate about the Foundation? I've seen it grow from the early beginning stages to a well established program, providing major funding for gastrointestinal cancer and mentoring hundreds of students, many of whom have become major players in the real estate industry. When the Foundation was established in 1999, what was your favorite song? I Will Remember You by Sarah McLachlan In a word, what does the Foundation mean to you? Success — beating gastrointestinal cancer. What is your vision for the Foundation? Growing nationally to provide funding to cure gastrointestinal cancer and to expand the real estate mentoring program throughout the Midwest and beyond. What is one thing people don't know about you? I was the drum major my senior year of high school. Richard Hulina Principal, Clark Street Real Estate
