13 E ach year, Career Day immerses students in the real- world of real estate for a full day. Career Day attracts students from all over the country, providing them with an opportunity to learn from top executives and to gain insight and experience into this ever changing fi eld. This year's event is scheduled for November 7 and will be our eighth annual Career Day. It will feature two site tours. Both tours will be accompanied by discussions focusing on operations, construction, fi nance, and development. Career Day 2014 will also feature a Young Guns Dinner at Gino's East, where some of the brightest young stars in Chicago's real estate community will share their stories and offer professional advice, a Round Table Lunch, where students will have the opportunity to have personal discussions with dozens of Chicago's top real estate executives, and a Job/ Internship Fair. The Foundation's annual Career Day is part of our ongoing effort to provide education programs and opportunities to real estate students and young professionals. This event is an educational outreach forum designed for young people who are looking to build a career in real estate. Career Day Accredited Courses CAREER COUNSELING – NEW PROGRAM! H EEF has developed full three-hour accredited courses for undergraduate and graduate real estate students. Right now, these courses are offered at University of Illinois in Chicago and Notre Dame. In fact, the Finance 490 course has had one of the highest enrollment for any real estate class ever offered at the University of Illinois. The objective of this course is to provide students with an exposure to the real world of real estate through a series of lectures by real estate professionals focused primarily on retail real estate development. A side benefi t of the class is to provide graduating students some insights into different career paths to help improve the career choices that they make. T he Harold E. Eisenberg is proud to announce its new Career Counseling Program. Building on the tremendous success of the Mentor Program, students and young professionals will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with industry leaders for short career counseling sessions lasting approximately 1 hour. The industry leaders come from our vast pool of Mentors in the Chicago and Milwaukee metro areas whose experience and insight in all facets of real estate is unparalleled and not found at any other program in the country. The Mentors are the industry leaders in brokerage, development, fi nance, legal, public service, consulting, management and construction.
