6 Dear Friends, This Foundation was started by Harold Eisenberg's friends and colleagues in 1999 after he died suddenly from an aggressive form of liver cancer. However, as the years pass by, fewer and fewer of those involved - whether it be through attending our Annual Dinner, volunteering as mentors in our real estate education programs, or serving on the Foundation's boards and committees - actually had the opportunity to know Harold. What started as an effort to keep Harold's memory alive has evolved into an organization that perpetuates his values. Each year we are touching more students' lives and raising more funds in the battle against gastrointestinal cancers, a fight we will continue until there is a cure. It is hard to believe that this year marked our 19th Annual Foundation Dinner. For us, it is still overwhelming to see over 750 people gathered to support this organization and raise over $500,000 for our mission. This growth and evolution would not have taken place without the extraordinary stewardship of the Foundation's executive director, Katie Hurley Wales, as well our associate director, Brittany Probasco and events coordinator, Mary Anderson. The Foundation is, in many ways, a reflection of the real estate community. Your generosity, and that of all the Foundation's board members, donors, and volunteers, continues to be the bedrock of the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation. We remain deeply grateful to each one of you. The Eisenberg Family A Word from the Eisenberg Family Who We a re Getting to Know the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation
